Malbone Centennial Way (Brooklyn)
Present name:Empire Boulevard
Location:Between Flatbush Avenue and Washington Avenue
Honoree:  This co-naming commemorates a subway derailment that killed 93 people and left hundreds injured on November 1, 1918. The Brooklyn Rapid Transit subway train crashed near the intersection of Malbone Street, Flatbush and Ocean Avenues. It was the deadliest transit disaster ever in New York City. Most of Malbone Street was later renamed Eastern Parkway. (Cumbo)
